About Me

I am a robotics and AI researcher working on bringing generalist AI-enabled robots to the real world, currently at Agility Robotics. Although note that everything on this blog is my own point of view, and is in no way representative of any past or present employer.

In the past, I’ve led Embodied AI at Hello Robot. I’ve worked at NVIDIA in their Seattle Robotics Lab and at FAIR, the fundamental AI research arm of Meta, working on mobile home robots. Once, long ago, I was an intern at self-driving car company Zoox, and in the robotics team at the US Army Research Lab.

So you can say that in my life, I’ve seen lots of different kinds of robotics, in almost every imaginable combination. I think robotics and AI is fascinating, and I started this to share what I hope is a balanced take on robotics and AI, highlighting:

  • What the current exciting trends are in research and in industry

  • How various technologies work, what they mean and what the open challenges are

  • How these technologies effect us and the world we live in

Why subscribe?

This is my blog where I post longer-form content about robotics and AI. I’ve spent many years in robotics research and enjoy writing about current trends as I see them, both from the academic community and from the corporate world.
